New test equipment has been developed at Custom8 to assess the ventilation and breathability properties of mattresses. The test bench is force and displacement controlled and simulates the inhalation of a baby head. The inhalation can be fully controlled by airflow and pressure, which makes the equiment an ideal instrument to measure the risk of suffocation while the baby is in prone position.
